National Approval Ratings: In a two party contest, BJP projected to take over UPA in Rajasthan

With the Lok Sabha elections 2019 inching closer, Republic TV and CVoter have presented the National Approval Ratings to give a complete national picture as to who will win if polls are held on November 1, 2018. In the state of Rajasthan, there are 25 seats up for grabs. Here's the projection for the state:

• 17 of the seats will be going the BJPs way while 8 will be going the Congress way in the blockbuster 2 party contest in Rajasthan
• This only reaffirms the fact that the Rajasthan electorate has successfully bifurcated its sentiments vis-a-vis state and centre and is a testament to the consistency of the Modi wave irrespective of an anti-Raje wave
• While there seems to be a lot of talk about Vasundhara Raje losing ground to Sachin Pilot at the state level, the Modi wave still seems to be soaring in Rajasthan by giving the party well beyond majority in the state despite anti-incumbency against the state leadership
• Given the fact that the Congress’ tally is up from 8 seats in 2014, one of which it has gained in there last month combined with the fact that the vote share of the Congress seems to be at a respectable 43% as this month, could there be a more dramatic move in the pattern io the electorate with the Narendra Modi factor kicking in?   
• As of today, there seems to be a direct transfer of votes from the BJP to the Congress in Rajasthan, however, how will this change post the result coming in on 11 December? And will a negative result for the BJP in the state election be neutralized by a PM Modi on ground campaign in Rajasthan for 2019? Will it all even out?

2018 has been a blockbuster year so far as far as the political landscape of India is concerned. With the countdown to the all-important 2019 Lok Sabha polls on, and with critical assembly elections in five states due in the next few weeks, November may just be the most important month in terms of deciding who will come up trumps in the general elections. Even as the Prime Minister dedicated the world's tallest statue -- the Statue of Unity -- to the nation on the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and a few days before that, commemorated Subhash Chandra Bose and the 75th anniversary of the Azad Hind Government, a massive war of words was triggered over appropriation of freedom icons. Additionally, the Supreme Court has delayed its hearings in the Ayodhya dispute, and will only decide in January when the hearings will take place. This has caused many among the pro-Mandir bent-of-mind, including the RSS, VHP and Hindu Mahasabha, to push the government to do whatever it can to build the Ram Mandir, with an ordinance on the matter the most frequently stated solution. In the last month has seen heated polemics over the events at the CBI, with the government acting on the CVC's recommendation to send the two top-most officers at India's premier investigative agency -- Rakesh Asthana and Alok Verma -- on leave after they had both accused the other of corruption.
