Priyanka Gandhi Vadra claims credit over Yogi Adityanath's visit to Sonbhadra, says 'Govt took it seriously after Cong raised the issue'

Amid the political drama taking place at the backdrop of the shootout at Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a massive revealation that the prime accused in the incident was from the Samajwadi party. He also made a number of announcements that would benefit the family. Soon after his announcements, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra did not fail to give the credit of it to the Congress party, she said that when the grand-old party raised the matter, the BJP government then took it seriously. She said that she hopes the people of the government get their legitimate right and taht they are given proper security. 

Earlier when Yogi Adityanath decided to visit Sonbhadra, she said that it is duty of the government to stand with the victims, and highlighted that the demands of people should be fulfilled.  

Development in Sonbhadra incident so far

On Wednesday, ten people were shot dead during a shootout in a village in UP's Sonbhadra district over a land dispute. In the shootout, over 20 other people also suffered injuries. The police arrested 24 people in connection with the shootout.

Following the incidence, Congress' Priyanka Gandhi Vadra travelled to Sonbhadra, however due to imposition of Section 144 she was detained by Uttar Pradesh Police. She then staged a dharna saying that she won't move till she is allowed to meet the victims.  A day after her dharna, TMC delegation also decided to paradrop. However, the TMC took to Twitter and said that its delegation was detained at the Varanasi airport. The TMC delegation comprises of Derek O'Brien, Sunil Mondal, Abir Ranjan Biswas.  In a video posted by the party's official handle,  Mamata Banerjee's party claimed that the ADM and the SP has not informed under which sections they are being detained. They also alleged that the Police said that they are acting 'as told from topmost'. The delegation later met Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
