Union Budget 2019 | 'Future Congress Finance Minister Will Bring IPad': P Chidambaram Unimpressed By Nirmala Sitharaman's Red Budget Folio

Congress slams Union Budget 2019

Earlier on July 5, after Sitharaman presented her maiden budget speech, Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala took to Twitter to slam the budget calling it lacklustre, nondescript, uninspiring and directionless.

Union Budget Speech

Exactly at 11 AM, FM Nirmala Sitharaman rose to present the Budget for 2019-2020. Within 5 minutes the speech, Finance Minister Sitharaman stated about Prime Minister Modi's vision of 5 trillion dollar economy.

Congress, on the other hand, is yet to find a successor to Rahul Gandhi's presidential post. Delaying the uncomfortable leadership tussle, on Thursday,  the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet after the current session of Parliament, said Surjewala adding that Gandhi was very much a part of the meeting and would attend.
