Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar on Thursday hit out at the Centre over the security clamp-down in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. She said that her husband has not been able to speak to his parents, who live in Kashmir, for the last 22 days. The letter was written by Pakistan’s minister of human rights Shireen Mazari. The letter was yet another gimmick to internationalize the Kashmir issue through channelling and peddling news about the valley. "Acts of violence have been acknowledged by mainstream politicians, such as the leader of the Congress party, Mr Rahul Gandhi who has noted "people dying" in Jammu and Kashmir, in light of events "going very wrong there." However, Gandhi asserted that Kashmir is India's internal issue and that Pakistan has no room for interfering in the matter. In addition, the Congress leader further slammed that tensions and violence in Kashmir was instigated by Pakistan. He also said that Pakistan is globally known to support terrorism across the world.
