Abhijit Banerjee wins Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences; Netizens react

Abhijit Banerjee was awarded the 2019 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in the Memory of Alfred Nobel, or more commonly known as the Nobel Prize for Economics, on Monday. He shared the prestigious award with his wife Esther Duflo, and Michael Kremer for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty. The prize which is a part of the Noble stable of awards was created by the Riksbanken, the Swedish Central Bank in 1968 and the first winner was selected in 1969. 81 Nobel Laureates have been awarded the prize in economic sciences.
