Congress has mounted a scathing attack on Pakistan after Imran Khan condemned the killings of the two terrorists in Kashmir by the Indian security forces on Sunday and suggested India to resolve the Kashmir dispute. Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala to twitter and called ‏Pakistan a 'terror machine of the world'.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan took it to Twitter and raked up the Kashmir issue. Referring to the two terrorists as 'innocent Kashmiris’, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party wrote:

This attack from Congress comes after BJP had claimed that Congress party was sponsoring Facebook ads in Pakistan to remove PM Modi. In-charge of BJP's national Information & Technology cell, Amit Malviya, had tweeted an image as well as a video which shows the official page of Congress allegedly flashing a 'Desh Bachao, Modi hatao' campaign in Pakistan.

In his video, he has demonstrated step by step  'proof' for his claims. In his video, 'proof' plays out as follows:

  • When a Facebook page pays money to promote a post and run it as an advertisement to target its audience with their messaging, it provides people with the option of viewing which ads are being run by the page to target which audience
  •  When one looks at any Facebook page and clicks on the “Info and ads” tab, all the paid promotions that are being run by the party’s page are displayed

This was not the first time that Congress has indulged in undermining Indian elected Prime Minister in Pakistan for its own petty political gains. Earlier, senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar had also gone to Pakistan and asserted exactly the same thing that the Facebook ad now allegedly said.

Congress rhetoric at home and Pakistan’s rhetoric at the UNGA also had eerie similarities. Earlier in September, Pakistan government had openly come out to campaign for Congress President Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister of India. Many Pakistani leaders were miffed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose government called of the talks between the two countries at UNGA. Hence, they had come out in support of the Congress President.
