Air India's Gandhi Jayanti tribute: Maharaja paints tails with Mahatma
Air India has paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary by painting his image on an A320 Airbus, which will fly from Delhi to Mumbai today

Air India has paid its tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary by painting his image on Airbus A320. The image is reportedly 11 feet long and 4.9 feet wide, depicted with the colour white on the red trail of the aircraft. The painted aircraft will fly on the Delhi-Mumbai route today and is expected to take its first flight at 1 pm.

Along with Gandhi's image on the national carrier, the company also organized a cleaning drive with all the employees.
One step ahead
Dhananjay Kumar, the spokesperson for Air India reportedly believes that this step by the company has made the National carrier one step ahead in paying tribute to the leader on his 150th Jayanti.
Ashwani Lohani, the CMD along with other executives participated in cleaning drive as a part of Swachhta Mission by the government. This was also on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary, the Air India employees along with their families came out on the streets of Air India colony Vasant Vihar to collect litter.

Indian Railways paid tributes to Bapu
The unique tributes of the national transports do not end with Air India, even Indian Railways' Central Railway Zone paid their tributes by painting Mahatma Gandhi's picture against the backdrop of the National Tricolor. There are a total of 22 locomotives prepared, out of which the work on 15 locomotives was already completed by September 25. The painted trains are currently running on Mumbai-Pune and Mumbai-Konkan routes. Reportedly, the work for the tribute had been in process for the last two months.
