What is the story behind the marching song 'Badluram ka badan'?
The song is inspired by the second world war when the Japanese had laid a siege around one of the company positions near Kohima. Though the company was under siege, the soldiers were able to survive because the company master continued to indent for rations even for the soldiers who were martyred. The marching song in recent years has been associated with Indian army Havaildar Hangpan Dada who was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra in 2016. He was posted in 35 Rashtriya Rifles in 2016 in Jammu and Kashmir and was martyred in Kashmir's Kupwara district during an operation along the line of Control (LoC).
Northern Army Commander reviews preparedness on forward locations
Meanwhile, Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on September 14, visited the forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region and exhorted all ranks to remain vigilant to counter the nefarious designs of the adversary, officials said. While visiting the forward positions in Rajouri and Sunderbani sectors, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh reviewed the operational preparedness. He also interacted with the locals and told them that the government is striving to bring peace, stability, and development to the region. During his visit to the sectors, the Army commander interacted with the soldiers and complimented them for their unwavering dedication to duty, selfless devotion, and a high standard of professionalism.
Pakistan army claims body waving white flag
As the Pakistan army resorted to ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), the Indian army gave it back to them. However, in a surprising move on September 14, the Pakistan army who has been disowning the bodies of their soldiers came forward to retrieve the mortal remains by waving a white flag. The soldier who was gunned down by the Indian Army after the unprovoked ceasefire violation from the Pakistani side was killed on a hill close to the LoC. After a brief standoff between the Armies of the two countries, one of the soldiers from the Pakistan Army came forward with a white flag to retrieve the body of his fallen partner.
