‘Employees recruited in a record two-month period’
Reddy opined that September 30 would go down in India’s history as a very special day. He mentioned that not only were so many permanent jobs created in a single drive anywhere in the country, but also stressed that the people had been recruited in a record time of two months. The Andhra Pradesh CM revealed that the village and ward Secretariats would become operational from the first week of December. Furthermore, he called upon the new recruits to ensure that the delivery of government services remained corruption-free. Thereafter, he declared that this initiative would undergo a regular social audit to bring in transparency and credibility.
What is the initiative all about?
Basically, the citizens can access nearly 500 public services through secretariats that will be set up across villages and urban areas in the state. Moreover, each Secretariat will have 10-12 employees to take care of matters pertaining to departments such as panchayat raj and rural development, revenue, medical and health, animal husbandry, power, agriculture and social welfare in rural areas and municipal services in urban areas. Apart from this, women police and women and child welfare assistant will be present in all Secretariats to specifically deal with the protection of women and counseling. Currently, the government has proposed the establishment of 11,158 village and 3,786 ward Secretariats in total. Reddy also announced that yearly examinations would be held from January 1 to January 31 to fill up vacant posts in the government departments.
