CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Police on Monday, 25 December, registered a case against 15 Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers for allegedly preventing DVAC officers from discharging their duties during investigation into the Ankit Tiwari case.

Earlier, DVAC officers had caught Ankit Tiwari, Enforcement Officer of the ED, red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rupees 20 lakhs.

Following Tiwari's arrest, the DVAC officers carried out searches at his official premises in the Madurai Zonal office of the ED.

The DVAC officer, in his complaint to the Tamil Nadu Police, has alleged that 15 ED officers – including an AD-rank officer, stopped them from carrying out searches – at the Madurai Zonal ED office, thereby preventing them from discharging their duties and interfering in its investigation process.
