Arunachal Pradesh: 15 Students Beaten Up By Seniors in School Hostel, 5 Suspended

New Delhi: Shock and outrage grip the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Bordumsa following a distressing incident of ragging committed by 11th standard students on their juniors from the 8th standard. The incident, which unfolded on Tuesday afternoon after lunch hours, left approximately two dozen younger students injured, both physically and mentally.
Principal Rajiv Ranjan confirmed that the boarding school, which houses 530 students and employs 18 teachers suspended the five students involved in the incident. The decision was taken after a disciplinary committee convened urgently in the wake of the disturbing events on campus.
Injured students receive preliminary medical treatment
The injured students received preliminary medical treatment for the trauma inflicted upon them during the ordeal. Ranjan further disclosed that a meeting of the Parent Teacher Council (PTC) has been scheduled today to address the issue comprehensively.
Authorities are set to hand over the suspended students to their parents.
Guardians voice strong criticism against school administration
Concerned guardians and community members have voiced strong criticism against the school administration, particularly targeting Principal Ranjan, holding them responsible for the incident. Demands for stringent action against the guilty students and accountability from the school administration have been vociferously raised.
