Arvind Kejriwal brings back Odd-Even, Netizens bring back memes
Twitterites have all funny reactions after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced on Friday that the Odd-Even vehicle rule will be back in Delhi to check pollution
Delhi Chief Minister and the President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that the Odd-Even vehicle rule will be back in the national capital. The rule will be implemented between November 4 to November 15. According to him, the Odd-Even scheme is expected to reduce pollution in the city, especially when crop burning takes place. The rule allows private cars and motorbikes with odd and even number to be on the road only on alternate days. However, the rule remains applicable only on weekdays. On the other hand, women will be exempted from it.
Odd-Even retuns, Citizens react
As soon as CM Arvind Kejriwal made an announcement about the rule being implemented again, citizens have flooded Twitter with their reactions. However, the rule has prompted jokes and memes on the social media platform.
Delhi Government's seven-point plan to combat air-pollution
The seven-point action is in the process of implementation by the Delhi government to combat high levels of pollution in the national capital. According to CM Kejriwal, a massive amount of masks will be procured by October. Water sprinklers will be used to wash off the flying dust in the air. The Delhi government has identified 12 highly polluted areas (hotspots) in the city. A special plan will be implemented to control pollution in those areas, stated the AAP Party President. Along with this, Chief Minister Kejriwal has urged the citizens of Delhi to abide by the Supreme Court's decision to ban firecrackers. Instead, the Delhi government will be organising a 'laser show' on Choti Diwali and the Chief Minister has appealed the citizens to restrain from burning firecrackers and gather in large number to witness the laser show.
