Arvind Kejriwal to Health Dept: 'End VIP culture' in Delhi hospitals

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched AAP's elections campaign in the national capital with months left for the assembly polls to take place.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched AAP's elections campaign in the national capital with months left for the assembly polls to take place. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Arvind Kejriwal directed the Health Department to "end VIP culture" in Delhi government hospitals in order to ensure that all the citizens get equal treatment. Adding that there will be no more private rooms for VIPs, asserting that all citizens will get equal and best quality treatment at the government hospitals. However, there are a few hospitals which will have private rooms that can be booked at some charges.

This development came after the Delhi government announced that a capacity of 13,899 beds are being added to Delhi's public health infrastructure. Arvind Kejriwal also stated that all hospitals will be developed with world-class state-of-the-art facilities, along with fully AC.

Campaign against Dengue in Delhi

Earlier in September, Delhi CM and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal launched a special campaign against Dengue. Addressing a press conference, he appealed the Delhiites to dedicate 10 minutes of every Sunday towards the cause, to ensure no stagnant water is present in their houses or surroundings to prevent the breeding of dengue-carrier mosquitoes. He took to Twitter and posted pictures, while checking his house for any stagnant water to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases.

Eye on elections

The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP is eyeing on states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar besides Delhi in the wake of the upcoming assembly elections. In a bid to cater to the Delhi citizens and retain power, AAP, which has 67 out of 70 seats, launched its campaign 'I Love Kejriwal' in the national capital. The AAP government introduced Maithali as an optional subject across Delhi government schools. On his birthday in August, the Delhi CM said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will win all the 70 seats in the Assembly election next year.
