Even as the Maharashtra deadlock continues after 15 days of the elections results, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday has reiterated that the next Chief Minister in the state will be from the Shiv Sena. This comes after Shiv Sena chief addressed media saying that BJP has betrayed the 50:50 formula that was decided between the Mahayuti alliance partners, in the presence of BJP president Amit Shah and Devendra Fadnavis. On Sunday, Uddhav met Sena MLAs at the Retreat Hotel, where they have been kept amid fears of horse-trading.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, BJP leaders in the state met Fadnavis in his residence and BJP leader Sudhir Mungatiwar said that they will inform the Maharashtra governor about their decision at 4 PM on Sunday. Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday offered single largest party - the BJP to show will to form the government in Maharashtra. The governor on Sunday also cancelled his visit to Nagpur.

Maha Governor invites BJP

Earlier on Saturday, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari set a two-day deadline for BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis to prove a majority to form a new government in the state. The Governor has called the leader of the single largest party to prove its majority by 8 pm on November 11. However, as per sources, Fadnavis would just have to submit the list of MLAs that support any eventual government, which indicates that there would be no floor test. The majority mark in the house is 145.

Sena BJP deadlock

While Sena has shifted its MLA to hotel, BJP has placed the blame of ending the talks to Uddhav Thackeray and his party. Sena has claimed that the 50:50 formula was discussed and the party won't give up this time. BJP has said Sena betrayed the mandate and started back door talks with NCP-Congress after the results. While both the parties have been gaining support from independent MLAs.  The saffron alliance swept Maharashtra on October 24, winning a combined tally of 161 (BJP- 105, Sena -56), but is yet to put its majority to use. Meanwhile, the 'Maha- Agadhi' alliance (NCP-Congress) bagged 98 seats in total.
