Ayodhya verdict puts an end to decades-old legal dispute: Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has said that Supreme Court's verdict on Ayodhya land title dispute will strengthen the culture, tradition and unity of the country.

Lauding the historic judgement passed by the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya land title dispute, Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday said it will strengthen the culture, tradition and unity of the country. He even thanked the courts and all the institutions for resolving this long-standing dispute. Expressing his gratitude, Goyal took to Twitter and wrote: "Today's historic decision by the Supreme Court will strengthen the culture, tradition and unity of the country further. I thank the court, all institutions, society and innumerable people whose efforts resolved this dispute today."

"The Supreme Court's unanimous decision on Shri Ram's birthplace is welcome. Today's decision has put an end to the decades-old legal dispute. All people should accept this decision and maintain an atmosphere of peace and harmony. They should be committed to making the country the best in the world," he said in another tweet.

Historic Supreme Court judgement

The Supreme Court on Saturday delivered a unanimous judgment in the title suit of the disputed area awarding it to the Hindu parties for the construction of a temple. It also directed the Centre to come up with a scheme within three months to set up a trust which will hand over the outer courtyard and inner courtyard of the site for construction of a temple. Apart from this, the Supreme Court stated that an alternate land of 5 acres has to be allotted to Muslims for the liberty of constructing a mosque either by the central government or the state government in a suitable and prominent place in Ayodhya.
