Mumbai: In a major update in the BMW Hit-and-Run Case, the blood and urine samples of the accused, Mihir Shah show no traces of alcohol.

This is a contradictory report as according to police sources, the accused was heavily drunk. 

BMW Hit-And-Run: No Traces of Alcohol in Blood Reports of Accused

The forensic reports of the accused in the BMW Hit-and-Run case is out, and according to the blood and urine samples of Mihir Shah, there is no trace of alcohol.\

This is against the claims of police that Shah was ‘heavily drunk’ while driving the luxury car.

The Police will now have to rely on circumstantial evidence in the case.

‘Mihir Shah Was Under Influence of Alcohol’: Police

During the investigation of the case, a Mumbai police official said that the main accused in the BMW hit-and-run case Mihir Shah was under the influence of alcohol when the horrific incident, in which one woman was killed. A probe team of the police recreated the accident scene in the early hours of the day to get more information about the chain of events and also confronted Shah with his family driver and co-accused Rajrishi Bidawat, who was in the car at the time of the accident on Sunday morning.

Shah had allegedly rammed his BMW into a two-wheeler, killing Kaveri Nakhwa (45), who was riding pillion, and injuring her husband Pradeep Nakhwa in the early hours of Sunday. After the crash incident came to light. 

His father and Shiv Sena leader from Palghar district, Rajesh Shah, was also arrested along with a man, Rajendra Singh, who was allegedly present in the car at the time of the accident on on July 7 morning. Rajesh Shah is also an accused in the case and he was later granted bail. The car that Mihir was driving was registered in the name of his father.
