Avantika Express Train Catches Fire in Gujarat's Bharuch, Passengers Evacuated
The Avantika Express on Tuesday caught fire in Gujarat, while the train was travelling between Bharuch and Ankleshwar.
Bharuch: The Avantika Express, on Tuesday, caught fire, reportedly due to short circuit, near Gold's bridge in Bharuch Gujarat , while the train was travelling between Bharuch and Ankleshwar. The express train was immediately stopped and the passengers were evacuated from the train. The railway police and the railway officials rushed to the spot after receiving the information. The rescue team too reached the site and initiated a rescue operation.
There are no reports of any injury or casualties in the incident. Preliminary reports suggest short circuit to be the reason for the fire.
According to the railway officials, the passengers were evacuated from burning compartments at the Bharuch station. Soon after receiving news about the incident, police personnel reached the spot.
There was panic among passengers due to smoke coming out of the train. The train stopped for 45 minutes after a sudden fire broke out due to a short circuit in the second compartment from the engine. Along with the fire brigade, the police are also present at the spot. No casualties reported so far.
