Explosive Found On Jammu Ring Road In Akhnoor's Gharota Area, Search Underway

Akhnoor: A suspected explosive was found on the Jammu Ring Road in the Gharota area of Akhnoor district in Jammu and Kashmir. On information, a police team of Jammu and Kashmir police along with the Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the spot. The entire area was cordoned off and the traffic was halted as safety measures. The Bomb Disposal Squad is at the spot and analysing the suspected explosive. As per the police source, the explosive appeared to be kept in order to ensure a terror attack. 

A senior official stated that the device, weighing around 1.7 kg, is suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED) fitted with a timer inside a container.

“We are investigating the incident, which may be linked to a potential terror strike,” he said.

Further details regarding the explosive is being awaited.
