IRCTC Faces Outage Ahead of Tatkal Booking Hours

New Delhi: Passengers across India facing inconvenience this morning as the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation ( IRCTC ) platform experienced a sudden outage just ahead of the crucial Tatkal booking hours. The disruption left users unable to access the website or app for tatkal bookings nationwide. 

IRCTC Website Down?   

According to Downdetector, reports of the outage began surfacing around 8:28 AM IST, with a sharp increase in complaints by 8:30 AM. The timing of the outage, just minutes before the AC Tatkal booking window opened at 10 AM, added to the frustration of passengers trying to secure last-minute train reservations. The issue appeared to be widespread, affecting users in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, and Chennai.

This is not the first time IRCTC has faced technical difficulties during Tatkal hours. Similar outages have been reported in the past, raising questions about the platform's capacity to handle high traffic volumes during critical booking periods.
