A massive fire broke out at a scrap dealing shop in the Shastri Nagar area of Bihar’s capital city Patna.
Patna: A massive fire broke out at a scrap dealing shop in the Shastri Nagar area of Bihar’s capital city Patna causing a panic-like situation in the entire area. According to the reports, the fire rapidly spread to the nearby residential buildings prompting residents to escape from the buildings and flee to a safer place. On information, the local police and several fire tenders rushed to the spot located in the AG Colony in Patna and initiated efforts to control the fire. As per the reports, the fire engulfed several houses in the locality, however, no casualties have been reported so far.
A police official stated that the fire broke out at a shop dealing in scrap items in the Shastri Nagar area of Patna on Wednesday evening.
He said that over half a dozen fire tenders were pressed into service, which brought the blaze under control.
“The fire broke out at around 7.15 pm at a shop dealing in scrap items. Officials of the local police station and fire brigade immediately reached the spot. The fire was brought under control by 8.45 pm," Station House Officer of Shastri Nagar Police Station Amar Kumar told PTI.
Efforts are on to ascertain the reason behind the fire, he said.
