'Coaching Centres Have Become Death Chambers': SC Takes Cognisance in UPSC Aspirants Case

New Delhi: In a latest update regarding the UPSC Aspirants Death Case of Delhi, Supreme Court of India has taken cognisance.

The apex court has also issued a notice to the Centre and the government of Delhi.

UPSC Aspirants Death Case: Supreme Court Takes Suo Moto Cognisance

After the death of three UPSC students in the basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle in Delhi's Old Rajendar Nagar, Supreme Court took suo motu cognisance of the safety of coaching centers in Delhi.

The apex court has also issued notice to Government of India and the Delhi Government.

Supreme Court issued notice to Central Government and Chief Secretary of Delhi and asked whether safety rules have been implemented in coaching centers.

Supreme Court asked Attorney General to assist the court in this matter.

During the hearing, the court said that coaching centers are playing with the lives of children. Coaching centers have become death chambers.

Supreme Court Imposes Rs 1Lakh Fine for Challenging Delhi HC Order

The Supreme Court imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Coaching Center Federation for challenging the order of the Delhi High Court.

After the Mukherjee Nagar coaching accident, the Delhi High Court had ordered the closure of those coaching centers which do not have fire NOC. The order of the High Court was challenged in the Supreme Court by the Coaching Federation of India.
