Terrorists Target 2 Army Vehicles in J&K's Akhnoor, Search Operation Underway

A group of suspected terrorists allegedly fired upon an Army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor.

Srinagar: On Monday, October 28, three terrorists allegedly fired upon two Army vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor. The officials have launched a massive search operation in the area. 

As per Republic's source, one was an Ambulance, while the other was an army gypsy that was targeted. More than a dozen rounds were fired upon army vehicles.

As of now, no casualties have been reported.

Akhnoor has a history of terrorist infiltration from the Manawar Tawi River and attacks on Army personnel.

Gulmarg Terror Attack: Civilian Killed, 5 Soldiers Injured

A civilian was killed and five soldiers were injured after terrorists attacked an Army vehicle near Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The vehicle, belonging to the 18 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), was en route from Botapathri when it came under fire. One civilian working as an army porter succumbed to his injuries.

Speaking to Republic World, Jammu and Kashmir Police sources confirmed that a Rashtriya Rifles unit stationed along the Line of Control in Gulmarg was attacked by terrorists. The attack took place in a highly restricted area, typically accessible only to the Indian Army, near the Indo- Pakistan border. Security forces have since intensified efforts to secure the region in the wake of the incident.  

Sources stated that six soldiers sustained injuries during the attack. Security forces have since been deployed to the area to assess the situation and ensure the safety of personnel.
