Terrorist Injured in Doda Encounter, M4 Rifle Recovered

Jammu: In the ongoing encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district between security forces and hiding militants, a terrorist was injured in the gun fight. 

Meanwhile, security forces also recovered a M4 rifle from Assar area of the district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces launched an anti-terror operation in the region amid a surge in terror attacks which has claimed lives of many security personnel and civilians this year. The encounter began on Wednesday evening.

The recovery was made near in a riverine in Assar area of the district where some terrorists are believed to be trapped.

Apart from the weapon, three rucksack bags were also recovered.

Following the encounter, blood stains were also found in the area. More terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the area.

Indian Army and J&K police have launched cordon and search operation in the Akar forest.
