Gurugram: A school bus driver died after falling from the roof of a private school in Gurugram's Sector 48, just two days after starting the job. The police are investigating the incident.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night after Sandeep Kumar (32) and another driver had gone to the building's fourth floor to sleep. A CCTV camera installed nearby captured the fall.
Sadar SHO Arjun Dhundhara said that initial findings suggest Kumar fell due to inadequate support on the parapet's side. However, a further probe is underway.
Kumar had started working as a bus driver at the school on Sunday. He had come to Gurugram from Rajasthan in search of a job. So, why would he commit suicide after he got employed, Kumar’s uncle Rajaram said.
Suresh Kumar, another bus driver, and Kumar’s roommate, mentioned that they went to sleep after dinner. Later, the school guard was alerted about the incident, and the police were informed.
After a post-mortem, the body was returned to the family, the SHO confirmed.
Despite multiple attempts, school chairman Satbir Yadav could not be reached for comment, and the school administration denied that the incident occurred on their premises.
