Himachal reels under rains
Several districts in Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla, Kangra, and Solan, have been reeling under a heavy downpour. The annual Manimahesh Yatra was temporarily halted after the bridge washed away on August 25, following heavy rainfall in the Chamba district. The Bharngala Nala bridge which connected Hadsar to Bharmour leached due to the downpour which resulted in the cancellation of the pilgrimage for the nonce. The National Highway-5 in Badhal village, Shimla district has also been blocked due to downpour.
Weather Forecast
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rainfall in all districts will follow which may take a turn for the worse. These regions are receiving heavy downpour as a result of the shifting of the western end of Axis of Monsoon towards southwards and the presence of Western Disturbance over northern parts of Jammy and Kashmir. These heavy rains have thumped the isolated areas in Himachal Pradesh causing extreme damage to life and property in the included states. Moreover, the reoccurring landslides have paused the life of locals along with the tourists.
