Tamil Nadu: Income Tax Dept raids on Coimbatore businessman 'lottery' Santiago Martin continue

The Income Tax officials have resumed their raids at the premises of Coimbatore-based businessman Santiago Martin aka 'Lottery Martin.'

The Income Tax officials have resumed their raids at the premises of Coimbatore-based businessman Santiago Martin aka 'Lottery Martin', at Vellakinar Pirivu in Coimbatore for the second day on Friday, October 13, sources stated.

Officials of the Income Tax department have been conducting raids at four locations belonging to Santiago Martin at Vellakinar Pirivu and Gandhipuram in Coimbatore city since October 12 morning. Also, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel were being deployed at four places.

Apart from his residence, the search is also underway at the corporate office of the Martin Group of Companies, which is located near the residence, Martin Homeopathy College located in the Coimbatore-Mettupalayam road area, and at another office on the 6th street of Gandhipuram area. The searches on October 12 went on till 7.30 PM.

I-T Dept officials freeze movable, immovable assets of Santiago Martin

The I-T Department officials have so far seized the movable and immovable assets associated with ‘Lottery Martin’ this year, and conducted a thorough search at Martin's and his son-in-law Adhav Arjun's office in Chennai.

Meanwhile, the I-T Dept sleuths have again conducted a detailed search at Arjun's office and Martin's residence at Kasturi Rangan Salai in Chennai. The I-T Dept officials, who were escorted by a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) team during the search, have kept information related to the raids confidential.
