Congress Spokesperson's Hypocrisy Exposed: Shama Mohamed Trolled For Congratulatory Post After Fat-Shaming Rohit Sharma

New Delhi: In a bizarre display of hypocrisy, Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed bowed down to Rohit Sharma and congratulated Team India on their Champions Trophy 2025 win, just days after fat-shaming the Indian Captain. The congratulatory post on X was met with severe backlash from netizens, who called her out for her complete U-turn. Her post on X was flooded with memes and comments trolling her massively for her remarks against Rohit Sharma. While some schooled her for her words, several others demanded an apology from her to the Indian captain.

After India's win against New Zealand to lift the Champions Trophy 2025, Shama Mohamed wished the Indian team through a post on X, saying, "Congratulations to #TeamIndia for their stupendous performance in winning the #ChampionsTrophy2025! Hats off to Captain Rohit Sharma who led from the front with a brilliant 76, setting the tone for victory." 

Shama's congratulatory post after India's win, came just days after she fat-shamed Rohit Sharma in a post on X, saying, "Rohit Sharma is fat for a sportsman! Need to lose weight! And of course the most unimpressive Captain India has ever had!" Her post was widely criticised, with many calling her out for her insensitive and hurtful comments. Some even deemed it an attempt to shatter the morale of the Indian team ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025 final match.

As the country celebrates India's victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where they defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the final, Congress national spokesperson Shama Mohamed has made headlines once again.

Social Media Erupts in Anger and Sarcasm

Shama's congratulatory post on X was met with a barrage of criticism from netizens, who were quick to point out the Congress spokesperson's earlier post fat-shaming Rohit Sharma. One user demanded an apology, saying, "Apologise!" Another user posted an edited image of Mohamed with a still from the movie Bahubali-2, captioning it "Summary of the tournament." 

Many users called her out for her hypocrisy, with one saying, "Must have been the most difficult tweet of your life. What did you have for dinner? Humble pie? From "uninspiring captain" to "captain who lead from the front". Ekdum se waqt badal diye, jazbat badal diye (Suddenly the times changed, the feelings changed)..." Another user wrote, "You have no right to congratulate and neither does Team India need your congratulations."

“I didn't understand it, but it felt good to hear it,” another user said. One of the users sought her apology saying, "How about apologising to Rohit Sharma?"

A user even went on to lash Shama Mohamed and her party, saying, “She did her best to demotivate the team but like always Congress lost here as well.” The trolling was relentless, with users accusing Mohamed of being "shameless" and “hypocritical”.

Some users even suggested that politicians like Shama Mohamed must be aware that their words have consequences and can be held against them.
