Azam Khan's son Abdullah's two contradicting birth certificates surface as UP Police files chargesheet against him

After the UP police filed an FIR against Uttar Pradesh MLA Abdullah Azam Khan - son of Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan on Tuesday regarding discrepancies in age proof, Republic TV has accessed on Wednesday, two contradicting birth certificates submitted by the MLA. One of the birth certificates which he had used during his election nomination process states his birth date as 30 September 1990 and the other states his birth date as 1 January 1993. Police has filed a charge sheet against Abdullah in this matter and the matter is set to be heard in court.

Here are the two birth certificates:

Abdullah had been taken into custody by the Rampur police earlier in the day for obstructing search operations in Mohammed Ali Jauhar University. His father- Azam Khan has been slapped with 13 cases against him by the Uttar Pradesh from the year 2006-2016, in connection with land grabbing.

Earlier on Tuesday, in a case of misinformation of revealing one's age, an FIR was filed against Abdullah Azam Khan by UP police with respect to discrepancies in age proof documents submitted for passport.

Azam Khan the 'Land Mafia':

Earlier last week,  the district authorities listed Samajwadi leader as a 'land mafia'  in the anti-land mafia portal that was introduced by the Yogi Adityanath government for allegedly forcibly taking land from farmers to construct the Mohammed Ali Jauhar University, as per sources. During this week, the authorities have reportedly registered around 13 cases against him in connection with land grabbing between the years 2006-2016. 

Following this move, in a bid to defend Khan, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had constituted a 21-member committee, led by the leader of opposition in the Legislative Council Ahmad Hasan, to probe "fake cases" lodged against party MP Azam Khan in Rampur. The 21-member committee of party legislators led by Leader of Opposition in Legislative council will reach Rampur on July 20 and probe fake cases pertaining to encroachment of land of farmers against Khan, who is also the vice-chancellor of the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, and incidents to harass him by the district administration," SP chief spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury said.
