A 35-year-old woman in Rajasthan’s Kota allegedly ended her life by jumping into a canal from a bridge on Monday. According to the police sources, the woman was identified as Komal Sindhi (35). It is being claimed that the deceased was under depression following the death of her husband.

A senior police official stated that the woman, who recently had joined computer classes, left her home informing the family members that she was going for the classes. However, on the way at around 4.30 pm, she parked her scooty at Shivpuri Dham and jumped into the canal from Thegada Pulia, which comes under the Udyog Nagar police station area.

Deceased's husband had also committed suicide about 4 months ago, says police official

Confirming the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dharamveer Singh, said that passersby saw her jumping into the canal and immediately informed the local police.

A search operation was launched with the help of the divers' squad, who retrieved the body of the woman, nearly 2 km away from the spot, after around 30-minutes of search operation.

During the preliminary inquiry, it was found that her husband had also committed suicide on September 4 this year. The woman is survived by a 14-year-old son and her mother.

Further legal action into the matter is being taken.
