MASSIVE: Centre reveals major terror crackdown - '155 ISIS sympathisers arrested till date' say MHA sources

In a major terror crackdown, the Union Home Ministry on Tuesday has revealed that upto 155 ISIS members and sympathisers have been identified and arrested till date, as per sources.

Sources further report that the arrested people were belonging to subsets of the banned terror organization ISIS and have been arrested from all over the country in a major crackdown by the Centre.

Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Home affairs had revealed its crackdown on terror stating that 733 terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir in the last three years. 
Addressing the Lok Sabha session, Minister of State for Home G Kishen Reddy said gave out the details of its crackdown from 2016 to 2019.

He said that 113 terrorists were killed in 2019 till June 16 and that 18 civilians also killed in the same period. He said that 257 terrorists were killed in 2018, 213 in 2017 and 150 in 2016.

Speaking about the government's zero-terror policy and its consequences he said:

"The government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. The security forces are taking effective and continuous action in countering terrorism. This has resulted in a corresponding change in the number of such incidents, including casualties. The security forces are also keeping a close watch on persons who attempt to provide support to terrorists and initiate action against them."

Extending its zero-terror policy abroad too, India's Ministry of External Affairs released a statement urging the neighbour to address the concerns related to terrorism on Saturday. MEA in a statement said: 

"We expect  Pakistan to take all necessary steps to effectively implement the FATF Action Plan fully within the remaining time frame, that is, by September 2019 in accordance with its political commitment to the FATF and take credible, verifiable, irreversible and sustainable measures to address global concerns related to terrorism and terrorist financing emanating from any territory under its control."

PM Modi too during his visit to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan made a strong statement against terror in the presence of Pakistan PM Imran Khan. PM Modi said that countries sponsoring terror must be held accountable.
