Rajkot: 55-year-old man allegedly rapes 3-year-old girl after luring her with snacks, arrested

Rajkot Police, on Sunday, arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl. According to the Police, the incident took place on Friday afternoon when the girl went to play at a playground nearby. The man, identified as Ram Paswan, reportedly lured the child by promising her snacks.

As for the victim, her parents hail from Uttar Pradesh and have resided in Rajkot since the last 12 years.

Reports say that the incident came to light after the parents of the girl saw her bleeding from her private parts. She was rushed to a hospital where doctors referred her to a women's hospital and the suspicion of rape was confirmed.

The girl was later questioned about the same when she revealed about "an uncle" who lived nearby, reports said.

The accused has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant IPC sections. He is an owner of a cutlery shop and reportedly has six children. The man, however, lives alone at his house.
