Sidhu Moosewala murdered: Father seeks NIA probe, asks Punjab DGP to apologize

Police recovered two suspicious vehicles, both seen in CCTV footage in the run-up to Sidhu Moosewala's murder.

"Everyday murders are happening, police seem hopeless & there's no direction to them. Sidhu Moose Wala's murder is a political murder. CM Bhagwant Mann should resign. He is accountable for that," said Punjab LoP & Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa.

As per sources, six people have been detained for questioning in connection with the killing of Sidhu Moosewala. Two vehicles have also been recovered.
 

Pradeep Kumar Yadav, IGP Faridkot Range has announced that an SIT has been constituted to arrest the culprits in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. "The attackers have left their car. Teams are after them. We are hopeful that they will be arrested soon. We've got some important leads and investigation is underway," said the IGP.

"After leaving his home when Sidhu Moosewala was driving his car along with two others in Mansa district, 2 cars came from front & firing took place. He was injured & was taken to hospital where he was brought dead. It seems like an inter-gang rivalry," said VK Bhawra, DGP, Punjab

"His security was withdrawn which led to his murder. This is complete incompetence by the Mann government and Punjab police. Bhagwant Mann should tender his resignation. He got threats earlier too," said Moosewala's brother. 

Former Manager of Sidhu Moosewala Shagun Preet is under the scanner for his murder. Shagun’s name surfaced in the killing of Vicky Middukhera and is said to be absconding. 

Two detained by police in the killing of Sidhu Moosewala. Both are associates of the Bishnoi gang. Mansa police picked both the youth from Patiala, as per sources.

Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar has taken responsibility for killing Sidhu Moosewala today in Punjab. Another gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who is lodged inside a Rajasthan Jail also seems to be involved in the attack, sources have revealed.

"The murder of Sidhu Moosewala is very sad and shocking. I just spoke to Punjab CM Man Sahib. The culprits will be given the harshest punishment. I request everyone to keep calm and maintain peace. May God rest his soul," tweeted Kejriwal. 

According to Punjab Police sources, a Sedan car was seen tracking Sidhu Moosewala's Mahindra SUV for a long time. CCTVs in this regard are being analyzed. 

"I am deeply saddened and shocked by the horrific murder of Sidhu Musewala..No culprit will be spared..My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with his family and his fans all over the world. Appeal to all to remain calm."

Issuing a response to Sidhu Moosewala's murder, SAD's Daljit Singh Cheema said, "This is a way of ending VIP culture. But I demand a high-level judicial inquiry. We will meet the governor also. CM's family is getting security, and Raghav Chadda has been given security... The state government is directly responsible for this."

As per sources, the assailants came in 2 cars and used automatic weapons to kill Moosewala. The firing took place continuously for around 10 minutes and at the time of the incident, no security personnel was present with the late singer. 

"Deeply shocked and saddened by the murder of promising Congress leader and talented artist, Sidhu Moosewala. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and fans from across the world," tweeted Rahul Gandhi. 

The Aam Aadmi Party Government had withdrawn 2 out of four security personnel provided to singer Sidhu Moosewala a day before his shocking murder, as per Punjab Govt sources.

"The news about Sidhu Moosewala’s murder doesn’t sink in. Absolutely shocked. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. The incident has happened a day after Bhagwant Mann govt withdrew his security. Congress will not remain silent on this murder," tweeted Jignesh Mevani

As per sources, 3 gangs are said to be involved in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. Around 20 shots were fired from semi-automatic weapons at the Congress leader's Mahindra SUV, sources have claimed. 

Taking to Twitter, Hardik Patel wrote, "Punjab has realized with a very sad incident today, how deadly it is for any state to go into the chaotic hands of the government. A few days ago the brutal murder of an international kabaddi player and today famous young artist Sidhu Moosewala is raising important questions."

"The Chief Minister of Punjab and the people running the Aam Aadmi Party's Punjab government from Delhi will have to think whether they want to become another party like the Congress to give pain to Punjab or really do something for the people. My tribute to Sidhu Moosewala," he added. 

In a fatal attack, popular Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Mansa on Sunday. As per sources, unknown miscreants opened fire at Sidhu Moosewala and two others in Jawaharke village, during which the singer sustained critical bullet injuries. Following the attack, Moosewala and others were rushed to a hospital in Mansa in critical condition. He was declared dead on arrival. 

"Congress leader and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was brought dead", said Dr Ranjeet Rai, Civil Surgeon, Mansa Hospital. 

"Deeply shocked at the broad day light murder of Sidhu Moosewala. Punjab & Punjabis across the world have lost a talented artist with mass connect, who could feel people’s pulse. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and fans across the world," said Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala.
