Telangana Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has filed a police complaint seeking an investigation into a 'fake audio clip' about an alleged conversation between a CMO staffer with an unidentified caller. A complaint has been filed with Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, as per a statement released by the CMO.
'A case has been registered under relevant Sections': Hyderabad Commissioner
While speaking to ANI, Hyderabad Police Commissioner said, "We have received a complaint from CM office stating that a few people are spreading rumours on social media and in a section of print and electronic media, regarding an audio clip. The complaint has been further sent to the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) and a case has been registered under relevant Sections. Further investigation is underway."
The statement released by the CMO
The CMO release stated that over the last couple of days, a section of the print and electronic media had allegedly carried a 'fake audio clip' alleging "someone had called up the CMO helpline and the staff there had expressed their opinion". CMO said in its statement, "Somebody created fake audio claiming it was a CMO staffer, which is not true. We have lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and have requested the police to take action against the culprit(s)." In the audio clip, the person who called up the CMO office said that due to the issues between RTC employees and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the public is facing problems and this issue should be resolved.
An indefinite strike by TSRTC employees
In Telangana, the striking state Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) workers intensified their agitation on Tuesday, October 15m as their strike enters the 11th day. More number of organisations and unions have extended their support. Organisations of Students, teachers, employees besides opposition parties have extended solidarity by participating in the protests. The employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) too stepped up its pressure by representing the issue to the Governor. On Monday, October 14, marking the 10th day of the indefinite strike by the TSRTC employees, senior ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K Keshava Rao asked the workers to end the stir and resolve the issues amicably through talks, while a bandh was observed in Khammam protesting the death of a driver who immolated himself.
