The J&K government has announced compensation for each of the three deceased, who were found dead in mysterious circumstances at the site, where five soldiers had lost their life in a deadly terror attack a day before. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the Bafliaz area in Poonch district on Friday. Notably, on Thursday around 3 to 4 terrorists had ambushed two Army vehicles leading to the death of five jawans and injuring two.

The police officials of the Surankote police station of Poonch district had identified the deceased as Safeer Hussain (43), Mohammad Showket (27) and Shabir Ahmad (32), all residents of Topa Peer village of Bafliaz.

J&K Police are investigating the incident

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to a mortuary for postmortem to know the exact cause of death. Police are examining the incident to ascertain the facts related to the death of the three men.

According to the police officials, the deceased were among the eight people, who were reportedly picked up by the Army for questioning in connection with Thursday's attack on the Army convoy at Dhatyar Morh, between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday announced compensation for each of the three deceased. In a statement, the administration said, “Death of three civilians was reported yesterday in Bafliaz of Poonch District. The medico legal formalities were conducted and legal action in this matter has been initiated by the appropriate authority. The government has announced compensation for each of the deceased. Further, the government has also announced compassionate appointments to the next of kin of each deceased.”
