Unnao case: SC transfers road accident case back to Lucknow CBI over remand, custodial interrogation complaint
The Supreme Court transferred the Unnao 'accident' case back to Lucknow CBI court. It has also modified its order in Unnao rape case and deferred for 15 days the transfer of accident case.

The CBI had complained that the transfer of the case to Delhi by the Supreme Court is affecting the remand of accused, a custodial interrogation, etc. Now the case will remain in Lucknow for the next 7 to 14 days, till the probe is over.
The investigating agency had approached the apex court seeking custodial interrogation of Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the accident case. The CBI had moved an application in a Lucknow court seeking custodial interrogation of four other suspects also apart from Kuldeep Singh Sengar, i.e. Atul Singh, Shailender Singh , Virender Singh, Vineet Mishra. It will also ask the local court that it wants to examine the rape survivor's uncle who is presently in judicial custody. He is the complainant in the case
Latest in Unnao accident case probe
Meanwhile, the accused truck driver and cleaner in the accident case have been ordered a transit remand of one day by a court in Lucknow. They will be questioned by the Delhi CBI. The court ordered the probing agency to bring them to Tis Hazari court by 3.00 pm on Friday.
A CBI team headed by Joint Director will be visiting Rae Bareli. A team of CFSL is also in Rae Bareilly to collect evidence. The CBI team is recreating the crime scene. The CBI will use a truck and Swift to recreate the crime scene.
SC defers shifting of rape-survivor to Delhi
Earlier on Friday, as informed by the Solicitor General to the Supreme Court that the family of the victim has said that she is completely unconscious and asked her to remain in the Lucknow hospital, the CJI has also deferred shifting (airlifting) of the rape-survivor and her lawyer from King George Medical College to Delhi's AIIMS.
Unnao accident case
On July 29, 2019, the Unnao rape survivor, her family, and lawyer were travelling when they were hit by an overspeeding truck in Rae Bareli, killing her aunts and leaving her and the advocate critically injured. The Uttar Pradesh police on Monday filed a murder case against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and nine others after the rape survivor's family filed a complaint, alleging "conspiracy" behind the accident.
