The properties of fugitive designated global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim located in Mumbai and Ratnagiri are all set to be auctioned on January 5, 2024.

The terrorist's four properties including bungalows and mango plantations in Ratnagiri's Khed Taluka were confiscated under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act (SAFEMA).

Ibrahim's properties in Ratnagiri that were auctioned in December 2020 included two plots and a defunct petrol pump that fetched Rs 1.10 crore in Lote village at Khed Taluka. The properties were registered under Ibrahim's late sister Haseena Parkar's name.

The government, earlier, had auctioned several of Ibrahim's family assets including a restaurant, which sold for Rs 4.53 crore, six flats sold for Rs 3.53 crore and a guest home that was sold for Rs 3.52 crore.

Recently, Ibrahim grabbed headlines after reports of him being poisoned in Pakistan's Karachi broke out. However, intel agencies confirmed to Republic that he was indeed hospitalised but not poisoned.

A senior official had said, "Kaskar (Dawood Ibrahim) was taken to hospital due to his ill health. After being treated for a week, he was brought back home on Sunday evening. Now his condition is stable."

"In the past, he (Dawood Ibrahim) was able to eliminate his rivals after news was planted that he was suffering from gangrene," said sources in the anti-extortion cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch.

Dawood has been unwell for some time. Agencies have tracked family members of Dawood in Pakistan. Family members have confirmed his ill health.

"Dawood Ibrahim's health has been deteriorating since 2018 because he is suffering from diabetes and other multiple diseases. He has been admitted multiple times in the hospital due to his ailment," a top Maharashtra cop had told Republic on the condition of anonymity.
