Delhi police issues traffic advisory for Sunday’s Army veterans half marathon; Avoid these routes

Delhi traffic police has issued a traffic advisory for the national capital tomorrow (December 10) due to the Army veterans half marathon.

New Delhi: Delhi traffic police has issued a traffic advisory for the national capital tomorrow (December 10) due to the Army veterans half marathon being organized by the Indian Army. Traffic will be affected on many roads in Delhi tomorrow.

The Marathon, which will see the participation of more than four thousand people will participate will start from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 6 am and will reach India Gate and from there the runner participants will return back to the stadium. During this period, movement of people and traffic will be stopped on some roads in South and New Delhi and traffic will be diverted.

Traffic will remain diverted on these routes

According to the Delhi traffic police, the runners participating in the marathon will exit from Gate No. 10 of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium after the flag off and will go to Dayal Singh College, Lodhi Road, Safdarjung Madrasa, Aurobindo Marg, Tughlaq Road, Gol Methi, C-Hexagon India Gate via Krishna Menon Marg, K Kamaraj Marg, Sunehri Masjid, Udyog Bhawan Roundabout, Motilal Nehru Marg, Vijay Chowk, Dutta Path, Rafi Marg, Niti Aayog, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Marg, Janpath and Dutta Path. From there, all the runners will run back to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium via the same route by which they came.

Keep some buffer time in hand, If you are going to the station or airport as there will be an impact on traffic from 5 am to 10 am due to the marathon. Traffic will also be diverted from many places. Especially at the time when the runners will be passing through the said roads, the traffic on those roads and other roads around them will be affected. In view of this, the traffic police has advised people to leave for their destinations well in advance. In particular, people who have to go to the airport or railway station via New Delhi have been especially advised to leave home early and avoid the marathon route. However, emergency vehicles will not be stopped and there will be cross traffic on the roads until the runners pass.
