Delhi Women To Get Rs 1,000 In Their Bank Accounts Soon: AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal
Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal announced on Monday that he was making arrangements to soon provide Rs 1,000 as a monthly honorarium to women in Delhi.
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal announced on Monday that he was making arrangements to soon provide Rs 1,000 as a monthly honorarium to women in Delhi.
In its 2024-25 budget, the Delhi government announced the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, which will provide Rs 1,000 per month to all women over the age of 18.
“I am doing that work very soon in which Rs 1,000 will be deposited in your bank accounts,” Kejriwal said.

The former chief minister, who conducted a 'padyatra' in the Model Town area of north Delhi, also defended his initiatives to provide free electricity and water, while accusing the BJP of "stealing" public funds.
"The BJP opposes free electricity, water, education and healthcare, claiming that I am wasting money; but I am spending it on the people, not stealing it like the BJP," Kejriwal said.
Launching a scathing attack at Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, the AAP supremo said, "The lieutenant governor was running the government in the city for six months when I was in jail. Why did he not run the government in such a way that people would have said that they wanted the lieutenant governor and not Kejriwal?"
"They did nothing except halt the ongoing good projects but now, I am back --road construction, sewer cleaning, and garbage removal are resuming at full speed," he added.
Urging the people not to vote for the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections, he reiterated his claim that the saffron party would stop all the free facilities the AAP government has been providing for 10 years.
"The BJP champions its 'double-engine governments', but look at UP and Bihar --they have only brought mismanagement and if you mistakenly vote for the BJP, Delhi will become like UP or Bihar, with long power cuts and bills worth thousands of rupees," Kejriwal claimed.
AAP leaders are undertaking 'padyatras (foot marches)' in various assembly segments in the run-up to the polls, due in February next year.
