Development push in education sector of Ladakh by MP Jamyang Tsering
With increasing concerns over education, office of Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering has begun a pilot project on the education system in four Government schools of Leh
After the abrogation of article 370, the government of India has launched many projects for the development of Leh and Ladakh with the education sector being the prime focus. As far as improving the education sector is concerned in Leh and Ladakh, the office of Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering has begun a pilot project on the education system in Ladakh in four Government schools of Leh.
As per the information, schools in Leh are connected through the internet from a centre New Delhi's Jasola. The professionals and experienced teachers connect live with students of these four schools simultaneously every day and prepare them for their upcoming board exams which will begin later in the month.
Green Governance initiative and Edukiran
The Office of MP of Ladakh has roped in two organisations, Green Governance initiative and Edukiran to do this job. While speaking to Republic, one of the organisers of this project Saeed Azam Hussain said,
"We started this pilot project on 2nd of September in which since beginning we targetted four schools of Leh and it's adjoining areas. The variation of number of students in this project is really high. In this project, trained faculties get connected with students sitting in their classes in Leh via internet and take their classes of different subjects."
"Students have shown a keen interest in this, initially students were quite skeptical but now they are really interested as they are getting a lot of exposure. We have noticed a significant improvement in students. Not even a single student miss our classes, today we also feel satisfied that we launched a pilot project and students responded positively," added Saeed Azam Hussain.
These teachers have experience of almost a decade. A school portal has also been created where assignments, test series and lectures for the students are posted.
BJP lauds the initiative
While reacting on this initiative, BJP said it's one of the most welcoming initiative taken by Ladakh MP.
"This is one of the most welcome steps, when a Member of Parliament is himself taking such an initiative where he is asking people of other states to help children of his constituency. This is in the betterment of Ladakhi's, this will help students to make better citizens and make them qualified to compete with others. Before abrogation of article 370, one would go to state government for doing this and it was on state government weather they would give consent for this or not and now when it's union territory, MP is taking decisions," said BJP leader RP Singh.
