Heavy rainfall and cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh have led to the release of water from Pandoh dam raising flood concerns in the hilly state.
Mandi: Visuals emerging from Himachal Pradesh showing the release of water from Pandoh Dam in Mandi have gone viral on social media platforms. Heavy rains have lashed parts of the Himalayan state with Beas river flowing to the brim.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that monsoon activity is likely to intensify over the hill state. An orange alert has been issued till August 2 by the Met Department.

Several parts of Rampur have been severely impacted in the Padhar subdivision of Mandi due to cloudbursts.
So far, three deaths have been confirmed, and around 50 people are reported missing.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday spoke to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and took stock of the situation arising due to the cloudburst in the state, and assured him of all help from the Centre.
At least three people were killed and about 40 went missing after two separate incidents of cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh where rains washed away many houses and roads and left two hydro power projects damaged, officials said.
A home ministry official said Shah assured Sukhu that the central government will extend all help, including deployment of teams of the National Disaster Response Force, for rescue and relief operations.
