Fire Breaks Out At Firecracker Factory In Delhi's Burari, Several Injured
A massive fire broke out in a firecracker factory in Delhi's Burari area.
New Delhi: A massive fire broke out in a firecracker factory in Delhi's Burari area after a powerful explosion. According to an official of the Delhi Fire Services, the fire broke out in the afternoon, in which at least four people sustained burn injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment. The police confirmed that one of the victims sustained 100 per cent burn injuries.
The fire officials stated that the fire was brought under control by the evening. The Burari police have initiated a probe to ascertain the cause of the fire. The incident occurred at around 4.23 pm in a house located in Burari’s Pradhan Enclave.
According to the Delhi Fire Services, five fire tenders were rushed to the site to bring the blaze under control. However, due to an explosion in the factory, which was operating on the ground floor of the house, several people suffered burn injuries.
The injured persons were identified as Himanshu (27), who suffered 100% burns, Anand (24) with 25% burns, Ravi Prakash (22) with 25% burns, and Vijay Pandey (22) with 40% burns. All four were rushed to Burari hospital by the police van. Later, Himanshu was referred to LNJP hospital for further treatment.
During the efforts to control the fire, one Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official, Devender Sandhu also suffered an injury to his right hand due to the explosion. He was given first aid by CATS staff.
According to the police, the crackers factory was operating on the ground floor of the house, while residential rooms were located on the first floor. The area of the factory was approximately 500 square yards.
The police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of fire in the factory.
