BREAKING: As ‘Boycott Maldives' demands grows after Maldivian politician's racists remark against India, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) calls upon the exporters and traders to refrain from business with Maldives. In a stern response to recent derogatory remarks directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's trip to Lakshadweep, the Confederation of All India Traders urged the traders and exporters to refrain from conducting business dealings with the South Asian country Republic of Maldives.

The statement from the traders association comes after the row between Maldives and India continued to spiral after three Maldivian ministers made objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Modi

CAIT Secretary General Shri Praveen Khandelwal said, “the offensive comments targeting Prime Minister Modi have been deemed unacceptable by the business community, and this call to boycott aims to express solidarity and register disapproval against such disrespectful behavior.”

Khandelwal also stressed on the need for mutual respect in diplomatic discourse and condemn any form of disrespect towards the leaders of friendly nations.

“The appeal encourages traders to stand united in sending a strong message against such behavior by temporarily abstaining from trade engagements with the Maldives,” he added.

Khandelwal opined that while international relations must be based on mutual respect and cooperation, derogatory comments aimed at political leaders can strain bilateral ties.

“The appeal emphasizes on the importance of maintaining diplomatic decorum and fostering positive relations between nations,” he said.

The leader underlined that The Maldives Government should tender an apology to India to make things right.

“Maldivian government should tender an apology for the unacceptable utterances of its few of responsible people. Disrespect of the Prime Minister is an insult of all of us and we will not tolerate the same,” he said.
