What Makes Wayanad A Landslide Prone Area, Know Details
Atleast 70 people were killed in massive landslides in Wayanad. Landslides were triggered by heavy rains in Kerala's Wayanad. Hundreds of people were feared trapped. NDRF alongwith local residents are involved in rescue operation. Indian Army personnel have also been mobilised to aid the rescue efforts. The collapse of a key bridge at the disaster site has worsened the situation. Torrential rains have uprooted trees, destroyed houses in Kerala's Wayanad. Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala and Noolpuzha are the affected areas. The area's hilly terrain, coupled with heavy rainfall aggravates the disaster.
