Guru Nanak Dev's 550th anniversary celebrations to take place in Delhi
On the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the DSGMC has organised 550 Kirtaniye and also an LED stage show at the India Gate Lawns.
On the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Sikhism founder, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has organized a massive "Shabad Anaahad & LED Stage Show" on October 12 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the India Gate Lawns in Delhi. The spectacle show organized by the DSGMC will include 550 Kirtaniye, who will recite the Gurbani collectively and also an LED Stage Show to showcase the highlights of Guru Nanak Dev's life. The event organized will also aim at generating awareness amongst the masses about the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak. Several dignitaries including the Union Home Minister of India Amit Shah, Cabinet Ministers, MPs, MLAs and VIP dignitaries will also attend the programme.
Sirsa: 'There has never been a programme on this scale'
President of the DSGMC, Manjinder Singh Sirsa on the occasion also tweeted about the grand celebrations o be held at India Gate Lawns on Saturday. He said, "The programme that is going to be held here tomorrow is going to be marvellous. Till date, there has not been a single programme on this scale. With this programme, we have made it clear that 'everything is possible'. India Gate Lawns is a tourist spot which is visited by many people around the year, it is a heritage site and if you ask anyone about India Gate they'll tell you it is in Delhi. At one stage there will be 550 Kirtaniye and this will be a message to all communities, to people across India, that we are delighted to celebrate Gurunanak Dev's 550th birth anniversary." Sirsa has also requested authorities to make arrangements for the live telecast of the grand celebrations.
The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) is a religious body constituted under the Indian Parliament Act, 1971. Its prime objective is to look after the historical Gurdwaras of Delhi/New Delhi and Sikh Affairs. The committee is headed by the leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
