The Shimla Meteorological Centre has predicted rainfall in the state till July 24.
The ‘orange’ warning for very heavy rain has been issued for Sunday and Monday, and a ‘yellow warning’ for heavy rain has been issued for Tuesday, the Met department official said.
The department stated that very heavy rain is likely to occur in the next three days in the plains, low and middle hills of the state.
The MeT office issues colour-coded warnings to alert people ahead of severe or hazardous weather which has the potential to cause "damage, widespread disruption or danger to life".
‘Orange’ is for weather conditions that have the capacity to impact significantly. Yellow, the least dangerous of all the weather warnings, indicates the possibility of severe weather.
Meanwhile several parts of Himachal Pradesh have received light to moderate rains since Friday.
The tribal district Lahaul and Spiti's administrative centre Keylong recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 12.2 degrees Celsius, it said.
