Himanta Biswa Sarma govt declares Jan 22 as 'Dry Day' to mark Ram Mandir consecration

The Assam Cabinet on Sunday took a decision to declare January 22 as a dry day on the occasion of the Ram Mandir inauguration.

Guwahati: The Assam Cabinet on Sunday took a decision to declare January 22 as a dry day on the occasion of the Ram Mandir inauguration. “Decisions taken in today’s meeting of the Assam Cabinet includes announcing Dry Day on 22nd January, on the occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Lalla Virajman, Approval to Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan- a new scheme to financially support rural women entrepreneurs”, the Assam CM posted on social media platform X.

“The grand Ram Mandir opening ceremony is on Jan 22. As this is a sacred and historic moment, Assam govt has decided to declare that day as a Dry Day in the State,” Assam Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah told Republic.
