Parameter of development

Furthermore, Shah claimed that 1.5 lakh homes had been constructed this year under the aegis of PM Awas Yojana. He observed that more than 60 crore people had been the beneficiaries of various government schemes since BJP came to power in 2014. Elaborating on this, he said that gas connections had impacted the lives of 13 crore people. Thereafter, he revealed that the government considered toilet construction as a parameter of development. Reminding the audience of the lack of washrooms earlier, Shah said that teenage girls had to go out in the open.
