Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump will be jointly addressing ‘Howdy, Modi’, a mega event in Houston for which more than 50,000 Indians and Americans have registered. This event is to take place on September 22. The key highlight of this event resides in the fact that it gains bilateral significance of both the countries coming together. The Attendees
There have been more 50,000 registrations. All the tickets were sold out within weeks. About 600 Indian communities in the US have come together. The people who have registered themselves to attend the event include people from 48 States.
With more than 1,100 volunteers working continuously to make this event a success, this event is touted to be major by both the countries. These volunteers are working 24/7 to make this event a success. All the major finances of this event are being born by the Indian community. This is the third major address to the Indian-American community after the PM got elected in 2014 and after his re-election on May 7.
Strengthening of India-US ties
The crowd turnout is going to be threefold as compared to the earlier gatherings. In a first, a sitting President of the US will be addressing an event organised by the Indians in the US. Senior Democratic Congressman Steny Hoyer is also touted to attend the event. More than 60 US lawmakers have been said to attend the event.
There will be a 90-minute extravaganza to showcase the cultural diversity of the Indian-American community. Singers and dancers are to entertain the crowd attending the event. More than 400 artists have been hired to perform at this event. Such programmes usually have a huge impact on geopolitics as they showcase that despite some differences, India and America stand together in cooperation.
