Indian Air Force (IAF) has put its airbases on orange alert after receiving intelligence inputs about a potential suicidal terror attack in and around Jammu and Kashmir. Sources claimed that intelligence agencies have issued a warning against module of eight to ten Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists who will probably try to carry out a suicidal attack against airbases in and around the regions of J&K. Srinagar, Avantipur, Jammu, Pathankot and Hindan airbases are put under orange alert by IAF after monitoring the movements of terrorists by the intelligence agencies.
'Examining Security Arrangements'
An orange alert is the second-highest level of alert second only to Red alert which, if issued, would involve the closing of schools and restriction on movements in airbases. Sources said that senior officers are examining security arrangements around the clock to tackle the threat. This came two days after the COAS (Chief of Army staff) General Bipin Rawat said that Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) camp in Pakistan was destroyed by the IAF in February and that it has been reactivated by Pakistan.
Balakot Has Been Reactivated by Pakistan: Army Chief Bipin Rawat
Army Chief Bipin Rawat addressed the media from the officers training academy in Chennai on September 23 and said that Balakot has been reactivated very recently by Pakistan. He further added, "This shows that Balakot was affected and it had been damaged and destroyed which is why people had gotten away from there and now it has been reactivated." The Army Chief also said, "Why must we keep repeating the Balakot airstrike? Why not keep the other side guessing as to what we will do? Why not beyond that?" The COAS General Bipin Rawat informed that Pakistan has violated the ceasefire and keeps pushing terrorists into our territory and exposed Pakistan.
Army Chief General Bipin Rawat: Pakistan violates ceasefire to push terrorists into our territory. We know how to deal with ceasefire violations. Our troops know how to position themselves and take action. We are alert and will ensure that maximum infiltration bids are foiled. https://t.co/88UjUARGHj
