As flood reels over 10 states across India, NDRF, Indian Air Force, Indian Army is making relentless efforts to minimise the human loss and save people from the flood hit area. On Friday, the Indian Air Force shared a video of the rescue operation in Madhya Pradesh's Niwari. The rescue operation saved three villagers from the river island using Advanced Light helicopter.

In the video, the IAF can be seen airlifting the villagers amidst bad weather in the area.

Incessant rains over the past few days have flooded several parts of Mandsaur district including the revered Pashupatinath temple, forcing the Madhya Pradesh administration to shift around 3,000 people to relief centres. Giving details of the relief operations, Mandsaur Superintendent of Police Hitesh Chaudhary said, "Around 3,000 people from waterlogged and flooded areas have been shifted to safer places. The administration has arranged food and accommodation for them." "In some areas, the floodwaters receded within a few hours and people returned to their homes," Chaudhary said. He said the entire district administration has been put on alert and special teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) from Ratlam and Indore have been pressed into service.

Flood in Maharashtra:

Maharashtra continued to reel under heavy floods on August 15. The state has been suffering the onslaught of heavy floods since 10 days. While rescue operations in Maharashtra's flood-hit Kolhapur and Sangli districts are over, the focus has now shifted on providing essential supplies to the flood-affected victims.

Despite extensive rescue operations being conducted by the NDRF teams, some villages in the Kolhapur district continue to undergo a flood crisis. One such is the Shiroli village in the Hatkanagle tehsil in Kolhapur district. While majority of the people have been rescued or evacuated from the village, there are still some who continue to remain stuck amid the ongoing floods. While efforts are being made to carry relief materials and other provisions to these flood-hit areas, it is still falling short of the number of people affected by the rains.
